چکیده

Because of their long coherence times and potential for scalability, semiconductor quantum-dot spin qubits hold great promise quantum information processing. However, maintaining high connectivity between qubits, which favor linear arrays with nearest neighbor coupling, presents a challenge large-scale computing. In this work, we present evidence long-distance spin-chain-mediated superexchange coupling electron in dots. We weakly couple two spins to the ends two-site chain. Depending on state chain, observe oscillations distant end spins. resolve dynamics both chain itself, our measurements agree simulations. Superexchange is promising technique create qubits.

Single-shot readout of electron spins in a semiconductor quantum dot

We report on a method for single-shot readout of spin states in a semiconductor quantum dot that is robust against charge noise and can be used even when the electron temperature exceeds the energy splitting between the states. The spin states are first correlated to different charge states using a spin dependence of the tunnel rates. A subsequent fast measurement of the charge on the dot then ...

Six-electron semiconductor double quantum dot qubits

We consider a double quantum dot (DQD) qubit which contains six electrons instead of the usual one or two. In this spin qubit, quantum information is encoded in a low-lying singlet-triplet space much as in the case of a two-electron DQD qubit. We find that initialization, manipulation, and readout can be performed similarly to the two-electron case, and that energy gaps remain large enough that...

Electron cotunneling in a semiconductor quantum dot.

We report transport measurements on a semiconductor quantum dot with a small number of confined electrons. In the Coulomb blockade regime, conduction is dominated by cotunneling processes. These can be either elastic or inelastic, depending on whether they leave the dot in its ground state or drive it into an excited state, respectively. We are able to discriminate between these two contributio...
